The Tampa Bay Lightning are the Stanley Cup Champions!
Well Stars fans, we came so far. It sucks not to be writing about the Stars forcing a game 7 or better still that the Stars are the 2020 Stanley Cup Champions, but what a job we did to get this far.
There are no excuses, but who knows what the Stars would have done with a fully healthy lineup, multiple key players being out including no.1 goaltender Ben Bishop and the hugely affective FCC line could have been the difference the Stars needed. However, Khudobin kept us in it along with our veteran additions like Pavelski and Perry and the whole team proved that they have what it takes. A really up and down year, but perhaps the Stars now have the belief they need to have a more consistent season next year and be able to pick up just the 2 more wins that they needed to take home the cup.
We must also say a huge congratulations to the Tampa Bay Lightning, one of the most dominant teams in the NHL for several seasons now, some playoff misfortunes has prevented them from potentially winning the cup each of the last 3 or more seasons, a great team that continued to find ways to win when it really mattered. Let’s hope that next year we can play in our own buildings and both teams get a chance for another to fight for the cup.
