Stars fall to Panthers in OT

The Dallas Stars dropped their first preseason game, losing in OT to the Florida Panthers.

Both teams had plenty of rookies on the ice and Montgomery was pleased with the performance of his team. The Panthers opened the scoring in the 2nd with a power play goal Gurianov tied the game a few seconds later only for the Panthers to regain their lead a minute later. Devin Shore then tied the game up on the power play before Gemel Smith put the Stars ahead for the first time in the game late in the 2nd.

Florida tied the game up in the 3rd sending the game to Overtime. MacDonald would get the game winning goal for the Panthers and the Stars go 2-0-1 in the preseason.

The game was played at BOK Center, Tulsa – the fans made it feel like a home game for the Stars.

So a well played game both Stars rookie goaltenders, Point & Bow, had plenty of time on the ice and impressed head coach Montgomery who may have lost his 100% winning streak but still holds on to a 100% point streak… if this was the regular season.
