The Dallas Stars actually scored 5 goals in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals, only 1 of them was a deflection into their own net, so the final score was 4-1 Stars.

A strong start and first period saw the Stars score first, Tampa managed to get a lucky bounce that meant it was tied at 1 a piece entering the intermission, but a huge second period by the Stars had them up by 2 and leading the way.

As we are starting to expect from the Stars, when they are leading, they look comfortable, but also, they don’t take chances, so they defend well, keep the opposition to the outside of the rink and limit their chances, and when the puck does get through Dobby comes to the rescue, and that is exactly what happened over and over again in the 3rd before the Stars secured the win with an empty net goal.

What a start, and after that game we have to be feeling confident. They might not all look that easy, Tampa will respond, but we will be ready!
