The Dallas Stars and Vegas Golden Knights took to the ice after both teams where victorious in game 7 of round 2. Vegas advancing once again to the conference finals and the Stars for the first time in 12 years.

Once again the NHL ‘experts’ have the Stars as the underdog or unlikely team to be victorious and almost all are voting for the Golden Knights, however, it was the Stars that came out and dominated play in game 1. They shut Vegas down and stopped them from getting too many strong scoring chances, and on the chances that Vegas did generate, Dobby was a brick wall!

We have to credit the defensive play of the Stars for limiting the shots and chances of the Golden Knights along with Dobby’s ability to make sure the puck stuck to him and there were no rebounds, overall it lead to a great game and one that Klingberg’s goal in the first 5 minutes of the game was enough to get the win and take an early series lead.

Jamie Benn, the other Star of the game came out and led the way, throwing his body around, creating turn overs and generating chances, something that flowed through the entire team. Something else great to watch was Hintz and Gurianov on the same line, the speed they had against the Knights was amazing to see, and you can tell it is only a matter of time before they both start putting the puck in the net with consistency again!
