Stars score 5 and drown the Ducks

The Dallas Stars had another mighty performance against the Ducks, scoring 5 for the 2nd time this year against them at the AAC.

Tonights efforts reflected in the shots and scoreboard, the Stars did not quit and were still searching for another goal in the final seconds of the 3rd despite having a 3 goal lead. The game saw Miro Heiskenen pick up his first NHL goal on a nice feed from Spezza, Jason Dickinson picked up 2 goals and an assist for his first 2 goal game in the NHL and Roman Polak picked up his first as a Dallas Star.

1st Period

The Stars kicked things off right from the first puck drop, immediately took the lead in shots before Dickinson walked in on Gibson and dangled his way past to put the Stars up 1-0.

The Stars continued to dominate, but on a turnover in their own zone Getzlaf collected the puck and with his first of the year knotted the game at 1.

The Stars 4th line not happy with their hard work to put the Stars up being undone by Getzlaf put things right by again having a dominating shift in the Ducks zone that lead to Ritchie & Dickinson who were instrumental in the Stars fist goal this time set Polak up as he brings the puck down the boards and walks his way to the front of the net to backhand it in and put the Stars back in the lead.

2nd Period

Just a few minutes into the 2nd and Getzlaf again wants to upset the Stars party as he ties the game again after being given way too much space to the side of Bishop.

The Stars once again answer quickly as Spezza on a break brings the puck into the Ducks zone, slows things down and waits for Miro to join the 2-on-2 and feeds him with a perfect saucer pass and Miro just a minute after Getzlaf’s goal restores the Stars lead and picks up his first ever goal in the NHL, first of I am sure many!

Despite having the lead in the hockey game the Stars don’t quit, the Ducks push to try to get one back but the Stars push harder and continue to throw pucks at Gibson. The hard work pays off as Janmark also collects his first goal of the season and Jason Dickinson picks up his 2nd of the night to finish off a great effort by the boys in green.

The Stars continue to play like this and we will be playing for that Cup!
