The Stars who have built a reputation of late on being a defense first team and have struggled to score for what seams to be the last 2/3 seasons have now scored 5 or more goals in their last 3 games and 5 times in 8 playoff games.

The good news for the Stars, it is coming from all over all the lineup, forwards, defense, top line & depth. So there is still lots of room for more players to break out and keep the scoring coming!

Another huge factor to the Stars win in game 2 of the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs was goaltender Anton Khudobin who once again put on a show and kept the Avalanche at just 2 goals. Colorado started the game the dominant team, they caught the Stars a little slow and not ready for a game as we have seem more often than we would like, however the Stars managed to hold it together defensively and after allowing 2 Powerplay goals and falling behind the Stars found a way to get back into the game.

Pavelski started the scoring on a Stars 5-on-3 powerplay, and from that point there was no stopping the Stars, Colorado still had chances and still pushed, but the Stars were playing their defensive game and held the Avs scoring chances to mostly shots from distance.

Dallas had some early powerplay chances that they capitalized on, however, the rest of the calls all went to Colorado, Dallas killing of 6 penalties in row after allowing a goal within the first 15 seconds of the Avs first 2.

A huge win, and huge series lead for the Stars, Game 3 is a ‘home’ game, so lets see if the Stars can make it a 3-0 series and win their 6th game in a row.
