With Bishop out, Khudobin gets the start again and the Stars are off to a good start in this one, and pick up the first 4 shots on net, and dominate the play in the opening few minutes, however the Coyotes get a power play, the Stars kill it off but it shifts the momentum for the Coyotes who dominate the middle portion of the first, they are awarded another power play and former Stars D-Man Alex Goligoski puts Arizona up 1-0.

The Stars even the shots out in a heavy shooting first period, but the 2nd starts with the coyotes in the lead.

Arizona plays a strong 2nd period and on an almost identical play on the power play again the Coyotes double their lead, the Stars have some work to do.

The third period however sees Arizona extend their lead to 3-0 and the Stars now have their work cut out.

The Stars slowly start to build up some momentum and with under 4 minutes to play Richie gets the Stars on the board, the Stars now looking dangerous are right back on the attack and Radulov tips Klingbergs shot from the point and the Stars are back within 1 with a little over 3 minutes to play.

Khudobin heads to the bench and the Stars once again have the extra attacker but Arizona throw everything online line blocking shots left, right and center and the Stars cannot get the equalizer. Ultimately too little to late and a usually unbeatable penalty kill leaks 2 goals and it sinks the Stars.
