After a tough opening night loss the Stars have announced that Roman Polak, who crashed head first into the boards during the 2nd period of the game vs Boston has been diagnosed with a fractured sternum and will be re-evaluated in 1 week. He was taken off the ice on a stretcher and taken to a local hospital, the good news is that he did not need to stay overnight at the hospital so let us hope he will not be out too long and makes and speedy recovery, but we wish him all the best and hope he is not in pain!
Blake Comeau also left the game after taking a puck to the face in the 1st period, there was a lot of blood and stitches where probably required, however, it was the way he fell that appears to have caused him some discomfort, as he has been listed as out with a lower body injury. Let’s hope he is not out too long either. ……
The final player to leave the opening night game was Jason Dickinson, he also left in the 1st and did not return and has been placed on IR with an upper body injury.
So a much larger list than we would like to see at any point in the season, but we would like to wish them all a speedy recovery, and we will keep you updated as soon as we hear anything, for now the list looks like this…
Roman Polak: re-evaluated in 1 week
Jason Dickinson: Placed on IR
Blake Comeau: Placed on IR:
Martin Hansel: Long Term IR
Stephen Johns: IR
Corey Perry: Injured, Non Roster
