The Dallas Stars fail to tie the series at 2-2 in an overtime loss. Once again we can focus on negatives and rule this team out at a chance to win the cup. Bad calls, bad power play, bad last & first minute of the period goals, bad penalty kill… there is a lot we can focus on and get upset about.

It felt like the Stars did very little wrong in the first period of game 3, they opportunities that should have given them the lead but couldn’t convert, then 2 mistakes by Stars top D-men, first Miro looses the puck and it’s 1-0 Tampa Bay, then a missed hit by Lindell sees the Stars down by 2.

In my view, a good day at the office, just not the right result. Too many penalties in the first, the officiating did not seem consistent throughout the game, but throughout the periods yes. Everything called in the first, most calls were made in the second and everything goes in the 3rd, but regardless, the Lightning managed to capitalize on their chances and it gave them an early 2-0 lead.

Khudobin seemed the only Stars player who knew what time the game started tonight! A painful first period to watch as the Stars looked a step behind the Knights at all times, that combined with what felt once again like the puck just wouldn’t stick to our players as it bounced over our sticks and fed the Vegas Golden Knights opportunity after oppertunity!

A strong start for the Stars and Knights saw the first period finish 0-0, Dallas came out strong in the second and were by far the better team and it eventually paid of with a last minute goal by Oleksiak. The 3rd period was a lot more open and back and forth, Vegas with more possession, shots and chances, but the Stars after giving up the lead twice got to overtime and Radulov found space and gives the Stars a 2-1 series lead in a 3-2 Stars win.
